jeremy was raised in gettysburg, pennsylvania, where he took a strong interest in music from an early age. he learned piano, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, mandolin, and banjo during his years in the area; exploring and absorbing canonical classical music, loud experimental music, and traditional appalachian music in parallel.
at age eighteen he attended berklee college of music in boston for four years, where he studied orchestral composition and film scoring. while there he worked full-time at the school’s main performance hall, which initiated his interest in the electrical aspects of sound, recording and show production.
following this era he moved to san francisco without a plan, to discover california and find a life making music. constant relocation, an untold number of brief jobs, dead ends, opportunity, misfortune, relentless effort, flashes of satisfaction, and bon vivant euphoria, eventually coalesced to a stable, if kaleidoscopic, life of studio work and touring wit in he lived in califor
